1. Highlights, Special Moments and Places

Eqypt - Land of the Pharoahs

I was able to see Egypt before the unrest that has been referred to as the Arab Spring. Egypt is a land of wonders, from the Pyramids to Valleys of Tombs for Kings and Queens, Obelisks and Temples in many states of preservation. It is hard to imagine how many of these could have ever been constructed, and by what labor force. See a portion of these sights here. A full travelogue of this trip is located in the International Travel section of this website.

  • The unfinished Obelisk at an Ancient quarry above Aswan. It was designed to be 137 feet high and would have weighed 1168 tons completed. It would have been the largest Obelisk in the world.
