The Ukraine, Odesa to Kiev on the Dnieper River

A Viking Cruise on the Dnieper River from Odesa on the Black Sea to Kiev, an ancient and splendid trade route lined with rich cultural treasures, onion-domed churches and rural folkways that recall the days of Vikings, Tatars and Cossacks. We marveled at the historic churches, visited Kiev’s Cave Monasteries and enjoyed the display of riding and combat skills of Cossack horsemen. We traced the footsteps of history from Kipchak carvings in Dnipro to occupations and wars throughout Ukrainian history. We dined on delicious authentic Ukrainian cuisine and visited religious sites, monuments, parks and local art colonies. A wonderful trip I would love to repeat.
